Resources West Business Services

Resources West provides confidential advice and support to potential and existing business owners through its business counseling services. Examples of support services include assistance in and/or access to the following

Current labor market and demographic information
Regulatory matters; licensing, Permits, Sales Tax, Employment standards
Business Planning and Market Research tools and resources
Identification of available financial assisting and lending

Resources West has developed a Small Business Program comprised of 10 – 3 hour workshops which introduces Entrepreneurs to the essential business skills required to operate a successful business.Resources West partners with Profit Learn PEI to provide business management training for business owners. Resources West is coordinator for the Self Employ PEI program on behalf of Skills PEI in Western PEI. This program provides eligible individuals with financial support, start-up Counseling, access to tools and resources and business training.

CBDC – West Prince Ventures

The Community Business Development Corporation is a network of independent not-for-profit organizations that work in cooperation with all levels of government and the private sector to meet the needs of small business. CBDC is dedicated to small business development and job creation with the nearest office located in the Alberton Business Centre.

Resources available to Entrepreneurs

Small Business Loans with financing up to $150,000.00 for start-up or expansion of business or purchase of existing business
SEED Capital ConneXion Program with financing up to $20,000.00 to individuals for small business start-up or expansion. One could qualify for up to $2000.00 training allowance.
Under the Technology Development Fund, providing loans up to $150,000.00 for the advancement of technology
Counseling and Advisory Services to consult with and advise clients on any number of issues
Women in Business Initiative provides counseling and loans to women entrepreneurs
Professional Technical Services provides research, training, and help with financial statements and other related issues
